FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEL 11 INJURY REPORT: CONCUSSIONS TAKE DOWN WES WELKER AND JORDAN REED

Another week and another batch of big fantasy football names bit the injury dust.  Let's take a look at the main storylines.

-Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker went down in the second half Sunday night in the team's game versus the Kansas City Chiefs with a concussion to which he will have to pass the NFL mandated protocol to play against the New England Patriots in Week 12.  Welker immediately went to the sidelines after the hit and was officially declared to have suffered a concussion early Monday.  We all know concussions are fickle things and put Welker's availability at 50/50 for next week.  Eric Decker and Demaryuis Thomas would see a sharp increase in targets in his place.

On a related note, Broncos tight end Julius Thomas is considered day-to-day with a knee sprain.  The sprain was minor enough for Thomas to return to the field Sunday night but he did undergo tests Monday as a precaution which turned up nothing serious.  Thomas is earning a reputation for getting dinged up but he has fought through it thus far this season.

-Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed has been a terrific find this season but a concussion knocked him out early Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles.  Like with Welker, Reed has to pass the concussion protocols which is never a slam dunk.  Again like Welker, Reed is 50/50 to play next week.

-San Diego Chargers WR Keenan Allen suffered a hyperextended right knee Sunday which cost him half the game.  The team has gone to great lengths saying Allen is fine however and the impressive youngster is likely ready to go for Week 12.

-Pierre Garcon was complaining after the Redskins' game that his ankle was bothering him.  Garcon has a long history of foot injury so this bears watching but the fact he was able to play the majority of the game and finish it means he should be available.

-They are calling it a minor hamstring injury that sent Eagles RB LeSean McCoy to the locker room Sunday but those from the inside say it was just a cramp.  McCoy was able to return and finish the game strong.  Nothing to see here.

-Joquie Bell suffered a foot injury that cost him the end of the Detroit Lions' game against the Pittsburgh Steelers but head coach Jim Schwartz said he could have gone back in but that the team was being overly cautious.  Theo Riddick gets a boost if Bell can't go as Reggie Bush is in the doghouse for fumbling.

-Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson admitted after his team's loss to the Seattle Seahawks that his groin was more than a minor issue.  Peterson will gut it out but his numbers could be taking a hit because of it.

-Emmanuel Sanders suffered a knee injury for the Steelers Sunday and was replaced by Markus Wheaton.  Sanders has done a very nice job opposite Antonio Brown but his status needs to be watched.  Jerricho Cotchery takes on appeal if he can't go.

There you have it.  Be sure to continually check the site all week for constant status updates on these players and the others around the league.
