FANTASY FOOTBALL WEEK 12 RUNNING BACK HOT ZONE: DONALD BROWN PUSHING TRENT RICHARDSON ASIDE

Once again Wednesday means its fantasy football Running Back Hot Zone day when we look into all of the latest changes and happening in this all-important position.

LEVEL 4

Donald Brown-Trent Richardson:  We have been over too many times the fact that Trent Richardson is having as bad a season as anyone in football.  It has now gotten to the point in Indianapolis where old bust Donald Brown has found new life in his place.  Brown is coming off a two-TD game last Thursday and since the midpoint of the season, has run with burst and decisiveness we haven't seen since he came into the league out of UCONN.  This smells like a clear changing of the guard as the playoff stretch begins for the Colts.  In addition to the running, Brown can catch some passes as well so those who are stuck with LeSean McCoy or Marshawn Lynch on a bye should look here for an underrated option.

Chris Ogbonnaya-Willis McGahee:  Officially stick a fork in the old as dirt McGahee as Ogbonnayya is now squarely the Cleveland Browns' starting running back based on last week's usage.  Ogbonnaya has been like Donald Brown in that he has stepped up when given the chance in the middle of season and run with burst that his counterpart has not.  No reason for the Browns to keep going back to McGahee as he looks completely spent so Ogbonnaya deserves a decent look.

LEVEL 2

Montee Ball-Knowshon Moreno:  We are not here to discuss Montee Ball taking the starting running back job from Knowshon Moreno.  Moreno got almost all of the carries Sunday night so he remains the one to own as far as the workload is concerned.  However we must take note of the fact Ball was used around the goal-line which resulted in two rushing touchdowns during the K.C. game.  Moreno has done more than his share of touchdown converting in close since the season began but we always have to go on the latest trends which could boost Ball a bit.  We saw a few weeks ago in Washington how Roy Helu Jr's three TD game was just a one-week mirage and this could very well be the case here as well.  Something to watch for another week however.

There you have it.  Let us know your thoughts on this.
